Guatemala is home to a rich indigenous culture, breathtaking landscapes, and some of the world’s finest coffees. With 37 volcanoes, several still active, the country’s volcanic soil plays a defining role in the complexity and depth of its coffee. One of Guatemala’s most celebrated growing regions, Antigua, has been producing exceptional coffee for generations.
Just outside Antigua sits Finca Medina, a farm with over 150 years of history, blending modern coffee innovation with time-honored growing traditions. The farm utilizes advanced milling techniques, including a drip irrigation system, while remaining deeply committed to sustainability and responsible farming. Beyond producing high-quality coffee, Finca Medina prioritizes the well-being of its workers and the preservation of its natural environment, maintaining 10 hectares of unspoiled land to support local biodiversity.
This Black Honey processed coffee is the result of meticulous care and expertise. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are pulped but left with their sticky mucilage intact. The beans are then slowly dried under shade, carefully monitored until they reach the perfect moisture level. The result? A cup that delivers deep sweetness, rich body, and layers of complexity—a true showcase of Antigua’s terroir and Finca Medina’s craftsmanship.
